The first nurse to contract Ebola in the United States, Nina Pham, is said to be ‘stable’.
Pham was flown from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital late Thursday to the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and arrived just before midnight.
“She is not deteriorating,” Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told reporters.
“She is quite stable now, and she is resting comfortably,” Fauci said, declining to say why she had moved from good to fair condition due to patient privacy laws.
Fauci said she was receiving “the best possible care,” and noted that there is no drug on the market to treat the Ebola virus.
“She is very fatigued,” said Fauci. “This virus knocks you out.”
