Nigerians and the World at large eagerly awaits the arrival of the over 200 girls who were forcefully abducted from their school dormitory by the dreaded Boko Haram sect, in Chibok area of Borno State on April 14.
A certain Mallam Danladi Ahmadu, who claimed to be Secretary General of Boko Haram sect, rekindled hope of their return when he revealed that the insurgents had agree to free the innocent girls who have been in their den for over six months.
According to the sect leader, the final meeting between the group and the Federal Government to seal the ceasefire deal had been slated for Monday (today) in Ndjamana, Chad and to be supervised by the Chadian leader, Idris Derby.
Speaking to Voice of America (Hausa Version) on Friday in Yola, he disclosed that the Chibok Girls would surely be released today to the Chadian President, Idris Derby for onward presentation to the Nigerian government.
However, it would be recalled that a similar promise was made penultimate week that the girls would be released last Monday but all to no avail.
Rather, some members of the insurgents invaded Madagali village and abducted another set of 45 girls.
Out of the over 276 girls kidnapped six months ago, none of them was rescued; 57 escaped, undisclosed numbers of them died of snake bite and harsh weather, 11 of their parents died of heart attack, while some of them had been put in the family way.
