Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo won a hat-trick of awards in Monday night’s LFP gala, which included being named the ‘Best Player in La Liga.’
The Portuguese star also received the ‘Best Forward of La Liga’ award for last season’s performances, while receiving the prize for ‘Best Goal’ of the campaign thanks to his superb backheel volley against Valencia in May.
After scoring 31 goals in 30 games for Los Blancos, Ronaldo admitted it was “spectacular” to receive three awards and was keen to achieve a similar feat in next year’s gala.
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone claimed the ‘Best Coach’ award after guiding his side to their first league title since 1996.
Ronaldo’s team-mate Luka Modric was named as La Liga’s ‘Best Midfielder’, while Barcelona vice-captain Andres Iniesta was awarded with the ‘Best Attacking Midfielder’ prize. Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who played for Levante throughout last campaign, won the ‘Best Goalkeeper’ award while his Bernabeu team-mate Sergio Ramos was given the ‘Best Defender’ award.
