At the WWE pay per view event, Hell In A Cell, John Cena beat Randy Orton in a Hell In A Cell match to become the number one contender for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. John Cena had lost an opportunity to face Seth Rollings at Hell In A Cell to Dean Ambrose and the authority instituted the stipulation of number one contender fight in the clash between Orton and Cena.
Orton Hit Cena with an RKO as he dominated the match for a long period of time. John Cena though came back strongly and saw Orton kick out of his signature move, the attitude adjustment twice. Cena was able to get the three count after hitting Randy Orton with an attitude adjustment from the top corner through a table.
Cena would now face the beast Brock Leasnar at Survivor Series
