Liverpool Steamroller Liverpool With Scintillating First Half Display

Real Madrid reigned supreme at Anfield tonight as they ran out 3-0 winners in their champions league clash with Liverpool

Liverpool started out pressing high up the pitch and trying to force the Galacticos into making errors but in the 23^rd minute, Ronaldo put Real Madrid ahead with his first ever strike at Anfield, a deft touch after getting on the end of James Rodriguez’s pass. Benzema made it two in the 30^th minute as he connected to Kroos’ cross at the far post with a looping header. Benzema added his second of the night in the 41at minute after a scramble from a corner put the ball in his path and the Frenchman made it three for Madrid.

The second half was played at a much slower pace with Real Madrid simply containing Liverpool and completely shutting them out and only changing pace a few times in the match.

Real Madrid have now made it 7 straight wins in European competitions, a new club record and currently sit above the rest in their group with 9 points.
