In an interview following Liverpool’s loss to Real Madrid, Liverpool Manager, Brendan Rodgers took time to answer questions about marquee summer signing, Mario Balotelli and his place in the squad.
The Italian has been firing blanks for Liverpool all season only managing one goal in all competitions so far and was substituted after another lackluster first half where he failed to threaten Pepe and Varane. When asked about it Rodgers said ‘Mario is working hard on the training field. As long as he’s doing his best that’s all I can ask for. Whether Mario’s best is good enough longer term, that remains to be seen’.
Liverpool spent 16 million pounds on the forward but could be forced into looking for an alternative to the misfiring striker if his current situation continues.
