David De Gea has turned down an opportunity to discuss a new contract with Manchester United, further fanning rumors that he could be leaving Old Trafford in the future.
The Madrid raised goalkeeper has overcame a rocky start to life in the premier league and despite some subpar performances, De ea has become one of the very good goalkeepers in Europe. Real Madrid’s Casillas’ performances over the past two years have declined and he is showing signs of age. Real Madrid have already identified De Gea as the Spain number 1’s long term replacement. And his refusal to negotiate a new contract insinuates that he might be interested in a move to the Bernabeu in the future.
