The season is drawing to an end and with it comes not only the premier league title, but also the player of the year award. Mourinho feels Hazard is a shoo in for the award.

Eden Hazard, Chelsea attacker who is notable for his playmaking skills and mazing run, oh that run is so beautiful, is contending with Tottenham striker, Harry Kane -who has 29 goals in all competitions- and Liverpool playmaker, Philippe Coutinho.

Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has backed the Belgian for the prize, saying he is “by far” the best player in the league.

“With what he’s doing, speaking in a very honest way, it shouldn’t even be a debate,” Mourinho told reporters.

“If somebody throws other names on the table, it’s because they want to sell papers, to throw sand into people’s eyes. This player is by far the best player of this season.”

The last time a Chelsea player won the award was when John Terry won it in 2004-05, when he led Chelsea to their first league in 50 years.
