Martinez Wants Cleverely At Everton

Tom Cleverley who is currently on loan from Manchester United at Aston Villa has stated his desire not to return to Old Trafford at the end of his loan spell with the Villlans as Tim Sherwood has kept silent about possibly signing the midfielder on a permanent basis. Everton manager, Roberto Martinez is however willing to negotiate with Manchester United over a possible transfer for Cleverley in the summer as he stated his desire to make Cleverely part of his team.

Martinez who described Cleverley as “a highly technical player” has revealed that he would love to make Cleverly part of his squad as he believes Cleverly could form a formidable partnership with Ross Barkely and Gareth Barry and eventually replace Barry as the key central midfield figure for the club. Both Everton and Aston Villa have struggled in the second half of the season and Cleverley is still yet to hit the form that made his so popular with the Manchester United fans in the 2011/2012 season.

Van Gaal has already made it clear that Cleverley has no place in his team as he asked the English midfielder to look for a permanent transfer elsewhere.
