PSG qualified for the quarter-finals at the expense of Chelsea, they played a 1-1 draw at Paris. While a 2-2 draw at Stamford bridge, where they played with ten men saw them advance.
PSG defender, Maxwell has said that the win over Chelsea is a confidence booster and has given them, the confidence they need to take into the match against Barcelona.
“That game filled us with confidence,” he said at a press conference.
“It showed us that we had the character and the quality to pull together and win under difficult conditions at a difficult ground.
“Now we intend to give the club the dream of making it though to the semi-finals.”
PSG faced Barcelona in the group stage, they won 3-2 in Paris, but lost at Camp Nou. They face Barcelona today at home, the left-back believes lessons have been learned and they’ve emerged better.
“They’ve made us grow, as players and as a team,” he added.
“This will be a different game, but we have the experience to face it and I think that it will be very even. It will be decided by the minor details.
“We need to head out on the pitch looking to enjoy it. It’s not easy to play in the quarter-finals. You have to do it without any hang-ups because there’s nothing to lose.
“Barca are one of the best teams in the world. We must be solid at the back.”
