Tottenham have been brought back to earth by e hard working Crystal Palace side on a cold night Selhurst Park as Spurs could not hold on after Harry Kane gave them the lead.
After a drab first half, the game finally came back to life in the second half and Kane stroked home Chadli’s lose ball into the net in the 49th minute. Crystal Palace came back strongly and were rewarded for their industry in the 69th minute when Stambouli brought down Joe Ledley. Gayle stepped up to dispatch the penalty before Jason Puncheon’s 80th minute strike gave Alan Pardew’s men the lead. Tottenham pressed for an equalizer while Palace looked to hit on the break but the game ended 2-1 in favour of Crystal Palace.
The euphoria of the win over Chelsea is over for Spurs as the real challenges of 2015 now stare them in the face moving forward.
