Thousands Sign Petition To Make Deadline Day A Public Holiday

Yesterday, Sky Bet launched an official petition to make the transfer deadline days both in January and in the summer a public holiday in the UK.

At 8pm on the 29th of January, the petition is said to have received over ten thousand signatures in support of the bid. Transfer deadline days are usually filled with twists and turns, last minute deals and unbelievably outlandish deals and fans around the world, usually follow the deadline day with religious dedication.

UK are unlikely to make the deadline day a public holiday but it would be fun to watch how the petition unfold.
