Zambian Singer Bobby East Fined N260 For Producing Sextape

A Zambian singer, Bobby East has been fined K8,500 (N257) for a sex tape of his which went viral on the internet.

Bobby East, whose real name is Robert Chunga, and his partner Ruth Mukanga were both handed the fines by senior resident magistrate Mwaka Mikalile.

Mikalile accused them of intent to corrupt people’s morals, and prescribed a 9-month jail term if they didn’t pay the fine immediately.

They defended themselves by telling the police that the video was for their own use and that the phone on which they had recorded it was stolen but investigations proved to the contrary.

Ms Mikalile said when she sentenced Chunga and Mukanga yesterday that the two had no justifiable excuse for producing the video.

There was need to mete out necessary punishment on the two to deter would-be offenders.
