Arsenal 2-0 Dortmund: Dortmund’s Struggles Continue As Arsenal Go Through

Yaya Sanogo Scored his first senior goal for Arsenal and Alexis Sanchez rounded off the victory for the gunners as they beat Jurgen Klopp’s side 2-0 to reach the second round of the UEFA Champions league.


It took only 74 seconds for Sanogo to open the scoring as he put the ball between Weidenfeller’s legs after a brilliant exchange with Santi Cazrola had put him through on goal. Arsenal dominated for majority of the game as Dortmund struggled to create chances and when they did create half chances, they struggled take them. Oxlade-Chamberlain saw his volley come back of the cross bar before Alexis Sanchez finally made the tie safe in the 57th minute. The former Barcelona man cut in with the ball from the left flank before curling a shot past Weidenfeller to make the tie secure the tie ans Arsenal’s qualification.


Arsenal have joined Dortmund as the two teams from their group in the round of 16.
