West Ham Brush Off Hull City To Keep Up Top 4 Chase

West Ham continue an unexpected chase for a top 4 spot after a 3-0 win over Hull City.

Goals from Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing and Morgan Amalfitano were enough to seal the deal for the Hammers.

The loss sees Hull City remain in the bottom 3.

After a goalless first half, the Hammers took the lead in the 49th minute when Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor failed to secure a shot from Enner Valencia, with Carroll seizing on the loose ball from close range.

The hosts doubled their lead through Amalfitano, who scored five minutes after being sent on as a substitute for Mark Noble by Hammers manager Sam Allardyce.

West Ham then piled on the agony for Steve Bruce‘s visitors three minutes later when Alex Song‘s 45-yard pass through the middle evaded the Hull defence completely, allowing the onrushing Downing to finish with aplomb.
