Goods worth millions of naira were consumed by fire which started around 4:36am at the popular Balogun Market on Lagos Island. The fire started from a plaza which housed hundreds of shops and gradually spread across other buildings. A Diamond bank building was also affected. Five plazas and four houses were also razed down in the inferno. Fire fighters were called in to calm the situation.
