With the tension in Barcelona as high as it has ever been, reports claimed that Lionel Messi had approached club president, Josep Bartomeu and asked him to fire manager, Luis Enrique. Bartomeu has come out to claim that no meeting of that sort took place.
“I went to the dressing room, as always, but what TV3 are saying is false. I spoke with Leo, Adriano, Neymar, Luis Enrique” Bartomeu told reporters after TV3 reported that the four time Ballon D’Or winner had asked Bartomeu to fire Enrique. Luis Enrique have been in papers oflate with reports claiming that the pair have had more than a few confrontations and neither party has bothered to deny with Luis Enrique supposedly telling the Barcelona board that he could no longer work with Messi.
Barcelona fans would be hoping the players and management can put their differences aside as they take on Atletico Madrid tonight.
