Varane Commits Future To Real Madrid

France center back, Raphael Varane has signed a new deal with Real Madrid that keeps him at the club till 2020.


Real Madrid announced via their official website that the defender had agreed terms for a contract extension. Varane who is often seen as the future of the Madrid and French defense broke into the first team under former manager Jose Mourinho who is keen to bring the young defender to Chelsea.


Chelsea were reportedly very interested in signing the Frenchman at it was reported at some point, that the London club were willing to use Petr Cech as a make weight player in the deal. This news, would represent considerable bad news to Mourinho and his team who are still looking to strengthen in the center of defense. For Real Madrid however, Varane’s contract extension would be great news as they have the talented defender tied down for a few more years.
