Real Madrid Beat Elche 5-1 In La Liga Clash

Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid continued their fine form with the 5-1 thrashing of Elche at the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo was the star of the show netting in four of Madrid’s five goals as Los Blancos came from behind to punish Elche. Albacar gave Elche the lead from the penalty spot after Ronaldo had brought down Mosquera while trying to clear the ball from the Madrid box in the 15th minute. Five minutes later, James clipped in a cross from the left corner and Bale was on hand to nod it past Herrera to equalize for Madrid. And in the 28th minute, Mosquers this time brought down Marcelo in the Elche box and Ronaldo stepped up to make it 2-1. It was 3-1 only four minutes later as Ronaldo rose ever so well at the back post to power in Marcelo’s cross for his second of the night. The second half went by with no major incident until the 80th minute when Pasalic brough down Ronaldo in the box enabling the Portugal captain to complete his hat trick from the spot. Ronaldo added his fourth of the evening in added time after picking up a lovely pass from Bale and sliding the ball into the net.

Real Madrid have now won three matches in as many attempts and would be delighted to have finally gotten their la liga season up and running
