Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Daniel Sturridge could take part in the Merseyside derby at Anfield on Saturday.
Sturridge has been out for three weeks with a thigh problem which the former Chelsea forward sustained in training is reportedly back in light training and could be available for selection depending on the results of a fitness test. “He has been training lightly and looks in great shape. We have to wait and see if he’ll play on Saturday but it’s looking quite likely” Brendan Rodgers said in an interview.
Sturridge banged in 20 goals for Liverpool last season and the kop would be hoping for more of the same this season.
