Bastian Schweinsteiger has been named as the new captain of the German national side. The Bayern Munich midfielder was immense for Germany’s world cup winning side and has been instrumental to Joachim Loew’s side.
Scchweinsteiger would be looking to continue the proud winning tradition that has been put forward by players like Beckenbauer, Ballack and his direct successor, Lahm.
Schweinsteiger would be taking over from Phillip Lahm and would hope to put guide the team to victories in their up coming friendly matches. Loew described Schweinsteiger as the “ideal captain for the German side” as he emphasized the midfielder’s drive and work ethic to journalists earlier today.
Scheinsteiger has so far enjoyed a distinguished career with the German National side and Loew would look to him to lead his young teammates from the pitch as they prepare to play the Euro 2016 qualifiers.
