Newcastle united midfielder Jonas Gutierrez has revealed that he was diagnosed with testicular cancer and he is undergoing treatment in his native Argentina.
Gutierrez who became a fan favorite at the Sports Direct Arena before he fell out of favor with Alan Pardew and was allowed to move to Norwich City on loan revealed that he had told his teammates about it and Fabricio Collocini had been of great help to him. The often over eager winger revealed he had undergone surgery and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.
Gutierrez took to twitter to thank his fans and well-wishers for the support he has received during the course of his treatment which he described as a trying time for himself and his family.
We wish him a speedy recovery.
