Chelsea Held 1-1 At Stamford Bridge By Burnley

chelsea burnley

If anyone predicted a slip up by Chelsea in the title race, he or she would not have predicted that the slip up would come against Burnley at Stamford Bridge. But with Matic sent off twenty minutes from time, Burnley pushed men forward and were rewarded with a point from Stamford Bridge

Chelsea started the brighter of both sides and put the Burnley defense under pressure consistently as they were boosted by the returning Diego Costa. 14 minutes in, Ivanovic scored another big goal with a close range finish to give Chelsea the lead. Chelsea struggled to create chances despite spells of dominance and in the 70th minute, Barnes went in hard on Matic who then pushed Barnes to the floor. Matic was shown a straight red and Chelsea were immediately under pressure and in the 81st minute, Mee rose highest to meet a corner to equalize for Burnley

Chelsea’s lead is now down to five points and the league leaders know they cannot afford another slip up
