Egypt Steps Out Of 2017 AFCON Hosting Bid

The Egypt FA has announced its decision to withdraw from the race to host the 2017 African Cup of Nations.


Egypt had been up against Algeria and Ghana in the bidding to host the biannual tournament.


Sports minister Khaled Abdel-Aziz, revealed that they are backing out of the race and would now support Algeria to win it.


“We have decided to withdraw our application and will support that of Algeria,” he said.


The Confederation of African Football(CAF) is expected to name the winner of the hosting rights on April 18th.
