The lackadaisical attitude of some of the staffs of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) was the reason why the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar and Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, (SAN), were not able to collect their permanent voters card. Dailytimes report.
The Deputy Director in charge of Voters Education and Publicity, Nick Dazang, made this known on Monday, at a one-day workshop for newsmen in Kaduna.
The explanation given by the INEC Deputy Director revealed that some INEC staff were careless in handling the bio-metrics of some applicants.
According to him, “the initial lost of data led to loss of finger prints and that was why the Sul-tan of Sokoto, Governor Fashola of Lagos and others could not get their PVCs. Attitude of some INEC staff led to loss of the data”.
