Balotelli strikes Late To Give Liverpool 3-2 Victory Over Tottenham

Balotelli struck his first premier league goal for Liverpool in the closing minutes at Anfield earned Liverpool a valuable win in their race for a top four finish.


Liverpool and Tottenham traded blows but in the 15th minute, after a loose ball off Sturridge’s feet fell to Lazar markovic, Markovic fired a low shot across goal past Lloris to make it 1-0. Tottenham were back level within 11 minutes as some clever inteplay between Lamela and Eriksen allowed the Argentine to play in Tottenham’s golden boy Kane to finish past Mignolet to make it 1-1. Liverpool came flying out of the traps in the second half and in the 53rd minute, Rose brought Sturridge down in the box and Gerrard had no problem finishing from the spot. In the 61st minute, Mignolet could only parry Eriksen’s free kick to Kane who sent the ball back into the six yard box for Dembele to bundle into the Liverpool net to even things up. Liverpool searched for a winner and Balotelli came on in place of Sturridge and in the 83rd minute, the Italian was fed the ball in the six yard box by Lallana and he won the match for Liverpool, side footing the ball into the net.


Liverpool are now 7th in the league and just a point behind Tottenham who are sixth.
