Everton looking at Eto’o and Welbeck
Samuel Eto’o could be heading for Everton, according to The Guardian. Manager Roberto Martinez is reported to be ‘weighing up’ signing the Cameroonian striker on a free transfer. Eto’o was at Chelsea last season on a one-year deal but is still without a club. He has also been linked with Liverpool in recent days. Everton are also considering Danny Welbeck, report the same paper, who is widely reported to be available from Manchester United.
Liverpool to seal Balotelli deal
Liverpool are to seal the signing of Mario Balotelli this Monday, with the striker expected to put pen to paper on a three-year-deal, report the Liverpool Echo. Balotelli was pictured on Merseyside on Friday night but flew back to Italy for the weekend, and is due back over the next 24 hours. The Echo claim that Balotelli could be in attendance at The Etihad as Liverpool take on his former side on Monday night.
Southampton bid for Andros Townsend
Southampton have submitted a £12 million offer for Andros Townsend, report SkySports. Spurs rejected a £10 million bid from the Saints last week, and it is unlikely the increased offer will see them change their stance. With eight full days remaining of the transfer window, it would not be a surprise to see Southampton return with a third bid for the England international winger.
Juventus pushing for Lukas Podolski
Juventus are to hold talks with Arsenal over the future of Lukas Podolski, the Guardian report. The German international is yet to feature this season for the Gunners, and is not expected to play a major role in midweek against Besiktas in the Champions League. Juventus want to sign the forward on a season long loan, but Arsene Wenger is only likely to sanction a permanent move, the paper claim, looking for around £10 million.
