Arsenal fell to what some fans call a routine defeat to Stoke City earlier today. This loss could not have come at a worse time for Arsene Wenger who is already under immense pressure as Arsenal fans are already questioning the Frenchman’s ability to lead their side.
Peter Crouch opened the scoring in the 10th minute as he tapped home N’zonzi’s cross from six yards. Arsenal tried to fight back but Stoke City players were on hand to bully Arsenal players off the ball in the midfield and their direct style paid off as Bojan linked up well with Walters before finishing brilliantly in the 35th minute to make it 2-0, Stoke City ended the half on a high as Walters fired the ball home from close range after Peter Crouch had helped on Bojan’s corner to make it 3-0. Arsenal came flying out of the traps in the second half but were as has been characteristic this season, let down by their finishing but two quick goals from Carzola in the 68th minute and Ramsey in the 70th were not enough to lead a fight back as Stoke City held on for a win. Stoke City’s job was made easier by Chambers who was red carded in the 78th minute after a second bookable offence.
This loss only heaps the pressure on “La Profesiuer” and his lads as he needs to start turning in results or his Arsenal career could end in disgrace
