Adadevoh

In its World’s Leading Women of 2014 List, Cable News Network CNN listed the late Dr. Stella Adedevoh, the doctor who gave her life in stopping patient zero, Patrick Sawyer from spreading the deadly Ebola virus which he brought in from Liberia to Lagos. Her sacrifice ensured that the disease was identified early with very reduced casualty than it would have originally been.

Alongside Sr. Adedevoh is another great Nigerian, the writer Chimamanda Adichie for her contributions to African Literature.

Other women who made the list included Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Oscar award winning actress Lupita Nyong’o, and IMF Chairman Christine Lagarde
