The Independent National Electoral Commission has disclosed what it plans on paying both the serving and ex-corps members who will serve as part of the INEC ad-hoc staff in the 2015 general elections. Kopastale report.

A well known Nigerian newspaper reported that INEC will pay corps members a total of N32, 000 for both March 28 and April 11 elections.

According to the heading of the publication titled; ‘Reject Inducement, NYSC DG, Jega Tells Corps Members’, it was learnt that, ‘each corps member will receive N32, 000 for the March 28 and April 10 national assignments’.

Literally, it means each corps member will be paid N16, 000 for each day of the election.

The payment applies to corps members serving as Presiding Officers (PO) or Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs) in the elections.

The hearttrending question is, owing to the life threatening nature of the 2015 general election, due to the seeming, closely contested presidential polls outcome, if we were to commensurate the payment package to that of 2011, will it be worth it?
