The Nigerian Football Federation saw its allocation slashed by the federal government as the nation tightened its purse in 2015. The Nigerian Football Federation was awarded 1.2 billion Naira, about a third of what they were expecting for 2015.
2015 is set to be a busy year for the NFF as the women’s team would be travelling to paeticipate in the FIFA women’s world cup and both the under 17 and under 20 teams would also be participating in World cups later in the years. An official from the NFF lamented the meager amount awarded to them citing that 2015 is going to be a busy year and the NFF did more to be fully operational
Nigerian sports as a whole received an excess of 10 billion naira but the House of Assembly are willing to review the figure as they asked officials from the National Sports Commission to appear before them on Monday.
