After seeing his side overtaken in the La Liga by bitter rivals, Barcelona and seeing his poster-boy, Cristiano Ronaldo leveled on goals scored in the league, Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti told journalists that he was confused by his forwards’ performances.
Real Madrid failed to win in the La liga for the second week in a row and more worrying for the European champions is the fact that in both matches, they failed to register a goal from open play, their only goal a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty against Villareal. The formar Chelsea and AC Milan manager, criticized his side for their individual play and admitted confusion at his team’s inability to work together “There is no connection, there is too much individual play,” said Ancelotti. “It’s strange to say Madrid have a problem up front when we have scored so many goals but I think it’s the truth. We need to attack as a team. It is quite confusing what we are doing when we are attacking at the moment.” Ancelotti lamented in an interview following his side’s 1-0 loss to Atletico Bilbao.
Real Madrid would have to get their act together as they prepare to take on Shalke 04 in the UEFA champions league on Tuesday.
