Alonso Retires From International Football

xabi alonso

Spanish icon, Xabi Alonso has joined the likes of Gerrard, Lampard and Mertesacker as one of the players to quit their national teams after the world cup.

Alonso enjoyed success with La Roja, winning the world cup and European Championships and he has decided to call it time with the Spanish national side following a disappointing world cup campaign.

Alonso would be fondly remembered as part of a midfield trio that included Xavi and Busquets that brought so much success to Spain.

Alonso would have time to concentrate on his Real Madrid career.
