Valdes Agrees Manchester United Deal

Reports filtering in from Old Trafford suggest that Victor Valdes is about to be officially announced as a Manchester United players after the former Barcelona shot stopper accepted an 18 month deal.


Van Gaal had stated that he maintained a special relationship with the 32 year old goalkeeper over the years and Valdes who was a free agent arrived at Carrington to train with Manchester United as he recovered from a knee injury. Manchester United remained silent about plans to sign Valdes and Liverpool and Arsenal flirted with the idea of bringing in the Spaniard and he was also courted by a few South American clubs. Valdes ultimately chose to join Manchester United and would be with the club till 2016


Valdes is set to become the fourth Spaniard in the current Manchester United squad and he is set to give another Spaniard, David De Gea some competition for a spot on the starting eleven.
